In the late 1880's landowner Henry N. Johnson evidently intended to develop the neighboring East and West Peaks in the Hanging Hills outside of Meriden, CT. Several of the designated lots have names of prospective purchasers added in ink. The proposal never came to fruition and today the peaks are part of Hubbard Park, providing hiking grounds and panoramic views to Long Island Sound and the Berkshires.
