Additional Details

This important compilation of voyages -- including those by Cook, Byron, Wallis, Carteret, Mulgrave, Anson and Drake -- was originally issued in 80 parts, leading to numerous variants. This copy with the title undated (but otherwise with the imprint reading conforming to Forbes's first state), the frontispiece dated 1781, the caption title on page 5 reading A Genuine and Complete History of the Whole of Capt. Cook's Voyages, and the death of Cook plate dated 12 March 1785.
