Uncommon survival of a mid-nineteenth-century copper printing plate. The image portrays a Scottish Highland couple, presumably in a farewell embrace as suggested by the title. We have found examples published by the Art Union of Philadelphia in 1853, but the publisher's imprint has been changed here to that of J.M. Emerson, New York.
