Additional Details

During the British Protectorate (1815-1864) new defensive structures and new buildings were erected in Corfu, such as the barracks, the hospital, and the church of St. George. The military figures and statesmen depicted in this album, some of whose signatures are largely illegible, apparently supervised those programs.
