first edition, inscribed by corso to jean genet with original drawings across two pages (verso of front wrapper and facing page) reading: "pour Jean, Gregory, birdie-poo's from Gregorio" accompanied by several drawings of birds; facing page inscribed "one of the truncated cocks in Delos - G.C." (with whole page phallic drawing with more birds). A vibrant association of two "jail poets," orphans who wrote their way, more or less, out of prison (in Genet's case, more, due to the pardon he eventually obtained) and into the 20th century literary outlaw pantheon.
