An uncommon pair of books, one of them illustrated with actual photos apparently a "mock-up" for a book in preparation. We could find no reference to Mr. William Bess or his beauty school. Given the possible money to be made in catering to the African American community, scores of such beauty schools sprang up in the wake of the success of Madame C. J. Walker and of Annie Turnbo Malone's Poro School of Beauty.
