Rée was a Danish-born costume designer who moved to the United States as a costume designer for Max Reinhart. He came to New York as a set and costume designer for such classic flapper-era productions as Earl Carroll's Vanities and Music Box Revue. He also designed covers for The New Yorker, 4 of which were published in 1925.
