A group of approximately 250 mugshots and identification images of suspected and convicted persons, many in Washington and Oregon.


A group of photographs depicting individuals suspected or sentenced for crimes, including drug usage, manslaughter, burglary, forgery, and more, likely from a detective agency. The images include typical mugshots with the inmate number, personal portraits of individuals that have been used for identification purposes, and full cards for escaped inmates or parole violators, some with wanted rewards. The group mostly depicts men but includes a small group of women. Silver prints, the images measuring 1 3/4x1 1/2 to 6x3 1/4 inches (4.4x3.8 to 15.2x8.3 cm.), some double images, many stapled or mounted to index cards, and others on carte-postale or Bertillon cards, nearly all with numeric notations on the print or mount recto, a many with handwritten or typewritten information on the suspect, on the print or mount verso. 1910s-30s
