Additional Details

The story of Ellen Suter Briggs, alleged to be the world's smallest woman, born in Germany in 1821, who settled in Ohio in 1830 with her father and then toured America as a circus attraction. This Spanish-language pamphlet describes her friendship with famous performers Major Stevens and Tom Thumb, and concludes with several pages of translated press notices from American newspapers; however, we have found no record of her career in other sources. The inserted photograph depicts Charles Sherwood Stratton a.k.a. General Tom Thumb and his wife Lavinia Warren Stratton circa 1863. Not in OCLC or Palau, and no other copies traced.
