Additional Details

Valli was a prominent Italian doctor who died while studying a yellow fever epidemic in Havana in 1816. His official cause of death was yellow fever, but his assistant Romay here argues that his death was actually caused by severe anxiety triggered by the gruesome symptoms he witnessed.
