Additional Details

One of the most famous Cunarders. The quadruple-screw vessel was ready for service before World War II, but she immediately became a troopship and remained so during the war. Her first voyage as a passenger liner began on 16 October 1946, when she sailed to New York from Southampton. Her running mate was the "Queen Mary."
