Additional Details

Unquestionably the most famous of the Cunarders. The quadruple-screw ship began service in 1936 and over the next few years held the blue riband. She was a troopship during the war and returned to passenger service in 1947. She continued her trans-Atlantic route for years until she was retired to Long Beach, California where she now resides as an hotel (unfortunately surrounded by concrete). Her running mate was the "Queen Elizabeth."
