A group of three handmade albums from Santa Barbara, with a total of more than 160 cyanotypes.
The images follow a local family on outings in and around Santa Barbara, documenting their familial pursuits and recreational activities, as well as the local architecture, scenery, and inhabitants, including the Santa Barbara Mission, Montecito, Chinese and Spanish residents (and their dwellings), and flora and fauna. Cyanotpes, the images measuring approximately 3x4 inches (7.6x10.2 cm.), and the reverse, mounted recto/verso, each with a caption, in ink, below the image. Small oblong 12mos, handmade paper covers with a title, in ink; ribbon ties. 1887-88

WITH--An album with more than 40 cyanotypes from the same family, this largely including scenes from Chicago and family portraits, but also features an indoor swimming pool in Monterey. Cyanotypes, the images measuring 3 3/4x6 inches (9.5x15.2 cm.), and slightly smaller, and the reverse, mounted recto/verso, each with a caption, in ink, below the image. Oblong 8vo, cloth, worn, backstrip partially perished. Early 1880s
