Italian text printed in black, with red, purple, and blue title and initials in each volume, respectively. 100 hors texte color woodcuts on Rives BFK paper, loose as issued. 343x260 mm; 13 1/2x10 1/4 inches, sheets, narrow margins, with canto and plate number printed on verso as issued. Thick folios, bound in dark brown Nigerian goatskin with gilt lettering along spines, each front cover a frame surrounding a full-page copper relief sculpture of one of the lithographs; occasional toning to prints or light speckled foxing to margins, but mostly bright and clear; brown calf slipcases from leather used for endpapers, with windows to display sculpture. special edition of 80 copies, in a unique binding with copper sculptural covers after the woodcuts. Mounted to the inside cover of Volume One, Inferno, is a zinc plate with engraved colophon stating that this is among a special set of 80 reserved apart from the edition of 2900 on handmade paper by Fratelli Magnani. Further, that this copy is reserved for Valeria di Vita, and that the Paradiso volume and been supplied with leaves and plates [from another volume] after the original copy suffered damage from the great flood of the Arno River in Florence on 4 November, 1966.
