Above the Declaration text are insets of Faneuil Hall and Independence Hall; a facsimile seal of the Department of Interior lends authority to the signatures. Produced as an advertising piece for the Chicago & North-Western Railway in conjunction with the Centennial Exposition; descriptions of the railway's Trans-Continental Line and other services appear below the signatures. We have traced no other copies of this exact printing, though Bidwell 38 is a very similar printing for another Chicago railroad, and the University of Virginia has a nearly identical version with an additional printer's notice at lower right.
