The facsimile signatures of the Secretary of the Interior and the Commissioner of Patents testify that this is "a photo-lithographic fac-simile of the Original Document now on deposit in the Patent Office." However, it differs from the original in a few minor points, particularly the lack of a period after "1776" and the omission of the word "only" in the 36th line, which should read "Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury."
