Additional Details

The text of the Declaration is headed by the Liberty Bell reading "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land", with facsimile signatures to the right, and a border featuring the 13 state original seals and a patriotic roll of honor reading "Washington / Lafayette / Bar DeKalb / Nath. Greene / Ethan Allen / H. Knox / Putnam / Morgan / Moultrie / F. Marion / Wayne / Sumpter." Another example was donated to the New-York Historical Society in 1941. They assigned an approximate date range of 1800-1820, which would be earlier than the W.I. Stone printing. Collins in Threads of History #419 assigns them an 1876 date. We suspect they may be an early 20th-century production. Considering the larger size of the Pennsylvania seal and the presence of the Liberty Bell, they may have originated in Philadelphia. with--a facsimile of a 3 July 1895 Brooklyn Daily Eagle newspaper printing of the Declaration, printed in gilt on red, white and blue crepe paper, 22 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches.
