An accomplished amateur's album with approximately 200 photographs of indigenous peoples, pastoral landscapes, events commemorating an official Danish delegation arriving in the town of Jakobshavn, Greenland and the historic voyage of Hans Egedes.
Including many studies of Greenlandic Inuit peoples in handcrafted garments showing their domiciles and traditions, as well as Danish settlers, dog sleds, groups of people fishing and hunting, beautiful seascapes and landscapes depicting glaciers, and views of an official Danish delegation. Printing-out paper prints, the images measuring 3 1/4x4 1/2 inches (8.3x11.4 cm.), and some smaller, and the reverse, images inserted into album pages, 20 with captions, in Norwegian, in ink, on the mounts. Oblong folio, gilt-lettered cloth and leatherette, backstrip perished. 1918

Additional Details

The photographs in this album were taken the same year of the Iheln Declaration, when Norway acquiesced to Denmark's claim to accede the entirety of Greenland as its territory.
