Additional Details

Geldprints were temporary war-related money issued by the officials of various cities after World War I; they were designed by artists and resemble large poster stamps. By the late 1920s, geldprints were actively collected as artwork and there was a Decorative Gelpprint Society and an exhibition of Official Geldprints in New York City. The designs here range from traditional to modernist.
