A selection of 17 photographs of dirigibles in the NYC skies over Manhattan. 1920s-40.
The series of images includes blimps from the Navy and Army, the Graf Zeppelin, the airship Akron, and the Goodyear blimp, all over the iconic New York City skyline (one photograph also depicts Los Angeles). Silver press prints, the images measuring 4½x6¼ to 7½x9½ inches (11.4x15.9 to 19.1x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, some sheets slightly larger, five with captions in the negative and one of these with a label on recto, and all with a combination of press stamps, date stamps, captions, and/or labels, on verso.
