Maquette for a book entitled "N. Y. A.: Work Experience Activities in New York City." Produced under Arnold Eagle's tutelage, with a variety of images, including some that may be attributed to Eagle. Illustrated with 66 photographs of hard-working people. Silver prints, 131/4x101/4 to 83/4x83/4 inches (33.7x26 to 22.2x22.2 cm.), each with a hand written caption, in ink, on recto. Folio, spiral bound wrappers with calligraphic lettering and an original photograph, edges lightly worn. [New York], Circa 1936

Arnold Eagle was a documentary photographer who worked to show both the negative and positive aspects of the world around him. Working in New York during the 30s, Eagle spent a great deal of time photographing life on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and its Jewish community. In addition to his documentary work, Eagle also became a photography teacher for the National Youth Administration.
