Folio, undistinguished 19th-century wrappers; lacking bottom corner of title page with partial loss of imprint line, title page laid down on heavy paper circa 1800, tears and tissue repairs to several other pages, with slight loss to first page, cropped with minor loss including one catchword, library markings including inked stamps on title page and final page; 1826 gift inscription on verso of title page. Additional Details

A compilation of eight documents, five of which appear in print for the first time, including the Royal Charter to William Penn and the 1701 charter of the City of Philadelphia. Although the book has no release stamps, news documentation of the library's recent large-scale deaccession of rare books is readily available.
