Additional Details

Stated "Second edition, with large additions" (3rd American edition). It is identical in collation and typesetting to Benjamin Franklin's Philadelphia edition of the same year, with the exception of the imprint line. While we would like to infer that this New York edition was actually printed by Franklin, it appears the reverse is true: Parker printed most of this edition in New York for Franklin's use. See Miller, Franklin's Philadelphia Printing 466; Evans 6301 (incomplete collation). This New York issue is much scarcer than those bearing Franklin's name. None of this issue traced at auction since a Swann sale, 18 March 1971, lot 65; only one traced in OCLC (British Library).
