Additional Details

A deluxe extra-illustrated reprint of Volume II of the seminal American Bibliography, known to collectors of early American printing simply as "Evans." A similar extra-illustrated version of Volume I was issued by Goodspeed's Book Shop in 1943. This companion volume was compiled by the late great Americana dealer William Reese, begins with his 5-page introduction, and is enhanced with original examples of early American printing supplied from the collection of Michael Zinman. Reese's introduction notes some of the more important imprints represented herein, including the first American imprint in Welsh, the first substantial imprint in German (from the press of Christopher Sauer), the Westminster Confession of Faith printed by Benjamin Franklin, and much more.
