Additional Details

A very nice grouping. Of the four large photographs, two are signed. One by Carver, showing him standing with a younger man. Inscribed: "With my best wishes. G.W. Carver, Tuskegee Inst. Ala. 4-15-39 G.W. Carver." The other larger photograph is signed "With best wishes Austin W. Curtis, Tuskegee Institute Ala. 4/15/39." Dr. Curtis worked with Carver at Tuskegee for many years. Carver was quoted as saying that he thought of Curtis more as his son than assistant. Among the four pamphlets is an early pamphlet on Carver, an off-print from the Montgomery Advertiser titled, "Negro Scientist Shows Way Out for Southern Farmers" by Osborn Zuber.
