"Translated by Joseph Neef, as an illustration of the plan of education established at his school near Philadelphia." This copy was given by noted clergyman and philosopher William Henry Channing to the Meadville Theological School while he was a young man in Brattleboro, VT circa 1841. The pencil notes on many pages appear to be in his hand.
