Additional Details

We have no idea who created these, but a note on the inside of the shipping crate says, "If no longer being used, please send on to Race Relations Committee, 1515 Cherry St, Philadelphia, PA." It is possible that they were part of some federal project on race relations during the 1940s. The posters deal with the myths of racism and the achievements of people of color in America, with pictures of outstanding African Americans from the 19th century, such as Frederick Douglass, and the 20th, such as Paul Robeson, Marion Anderson and W. E. B. Du Bois. Housed in the original heavy wooden shipping crate.
