Additional Details

West Kentucky Industrial College was launched in Paducah, KY in 1909. It was mainly a teacher training college. As its finances spiraled, founding president Dennis H. Anderson was forced out in 1937, and the school was closed in 1938. This charmingly captioned album does not hint at the drama. A young woman in cap and gown is titled "Miss West Kentucky," and a man driving a behemoth automobile is captioned "President D.H. Anderson and his Ship of W.K.I. College." Professors Grace and Cole are shown, as well as the 1937 graduating class. A group of girls are titled "W.K.I. College's aristocrats." Family photos are interspersed. The compiler is unknown, but possibly a member of the Cole family.

With a group of 11 loose uncaptioned family photographs.
