With the Jacobite Rebellion brewing, the crown offered on the front page a £30,000 reward "to any person who shall seize and secure the eldest son of the Pretender, in case he shall land, or attempt to land, in any of His Majesty's Dominions." This was a timely offer, as Bonnie Prince Charles had already landed in the Outer Hebrides on 2 August.
