Printed with five panels: views titled "The Battle of Waterloo" and "Village and Church of Waterloo--Taking of Buonaparte's Carriage"; a central "Plan of the Battle of Waterloo"; and two side text panels explaining the main view and the plan. This curiosity is discussed in the 29 June 1872 issue of Notes and Queries: "When I was about five years old, just after the battle of Waterloo, I received a present of a 'Waterloo handkerchief,' with which I was highly delighted, and which I studied with great earnestness. I have a vivid recollection of it after more than fifty years."
