The original catalogue for the famous exhibition of "degenerate art" mounted by the Third Reich, lambasting the works of Kokoschka, Kirchner, Grosz, Klee, and others accused of producing "poisonous art." Over 5,000 paintings and 12,000 works of graphic art were seized from galleries and museums. In 1938, several pieces were auctioned to raise money for the Reich; most were publicly burned.
