Additional Details

Etta Moten Barnett (1901-2004) was a star actress and singer of the 1930s and 1940s, based in Chicago. The first of these sheets is headed "All America Hails Singing of Etta Moten, Concert Artist"; another proclaims her "The Brown Thrush of Song." Each sheet contains a collage of press clippings, testimonial letters, photographs, and biographical data. Three sheets are devoted to a tour of Brazil and Argentina. She later went on to become an important civic leader in Chicago.
