One frame includes a cancelled $200 check made out to Davis E. Ruffin (the singer's legal name) and signed by David Ruffin (his stage name), 31 July 1979, framed with his promo photo and business card. Another features a circa 1968 manuscript set list with draft lyrics to an unknown song; the closing two bars of manuscript music to "I Wish It Would Rain"; and a publicity photo from the same era. A third frame contains a fragment of a set list, a used Motown matchbook, a David Ruffin business card, a David Ruffin 1976 backstage pass, and a signed David Ruffin check to the Safeway grocery store, 5 January 1979. The fourth frame contains a contract between Ruffin and Twenty Grand Corp. for a series of Detroit concerts, signed by Ruffin, 8 January 1973, framed with a set list for the first Twenty Grand show and a live photo of the group.

Provenance: Collection of attorney Gregory J. Reed, who represented the estate of Temptations singer Davis Eli "David" Ruffin (1941-1991); unsold in various lots at his well-publicized auction at Guernsey's, 25 July 2018, lot 1019; purchased by the consignor at Reed's bankruptcy auction, 19 November 2019.
