Additional Details

"Abyssinia" was a musical comedy with an all-Black creative team and cast. It featured the misadventures of two Americans in the land we now know as Ethiopia. The show debuted at the Majestic Theatre on 20 February 1906, moved uptown to Harlem's West End Theatre in April, and then closed its run at the Grand Opera House in August. We trace no other Abyssinia programs at auction.
