Additional Details

Davis delivers his secession message, "intimates his aspirations for a crown," sits on a throne of cotton, becomes terrified by the Union advance toward Richmond, and then "finds his throne a Secession Cauldron, more useful than ornamental, with a brisk fire in the rear." Certainly from early in the war, before Bull Run. 3 copies in OCLC, and none traced at auction.
