Guyette's original business, a store front in the theater district in New York City, specialized in costumes for the burlesque. He also created and sold "girl fight" and fetish photographs of women in various dress via classified ads in the backs of American and English magazines in the 1930s. Guyette's photographs were influenced by the Parisian photo studio Yva Richard, and the illustrator for French flagellation novels, Carlo.
