Portfolio titled "I," with 15 photographs spanning the length of Evans's important career. Silver prints, sizes ranging from 6x3 5/8 to 7 1/2x9 1/2 inches (15.2x9.2 to 19.1x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, each with the print number and edition number 21/75, in silver ink, and the embossed Walker Evans Estate portfolio blind stamp on recto; each print is individually matted. Elephant-sized two-toned clamshell box, slightly faded; the colophon with the edition number, in pencil. 1928-1971; printed 1978

Additional Details

The portfolio was printed by Thomas A. Brown and Baldwin Lee and published by the Estate of Walker Evans, distributed by Lunn Gallery/Graphics International, Ltd. The collectors purchased it from Len Hartnett, in 1986, and it has has been in their private collection since then.
