Bérard collaborated numerous times with Schiaparelli, a dear friend of the designer, whom she affectionately called "Bébé." He created fashion illustrations, exclusive prints, and a painted folding screen for the showroom of her Couture House. 'To be approved and admired – and sometimes befriended – by Bébé was a consecration in the artistic, social and intellectual world of Paris'--Schiaparelli, Shocking Life, London, 1954. A finished version of this same design was offered and sold at the Elsa Schiaparelli estate sale at Christie's, Paris, January 23, 2014.
