[Views taken in Fiji 1887-88 / C.B.H.M being Governor of Fiji and High Commissioner of Western Pacific.] An impressive album containing 40 mounted albumens and 4 watercolor portraits of islanders (signed "Percy Spence"), composed, presumably, by E.C. Mitchell, a relation of then-Governor Sir Charles Bullen Hugh Mitchell; some albumens bearing the blindstamp of Duffy Bros., Levuka, Fiji. Albumens mounted on recto-only, with contemporary ink manuscript titles. Oblong 4to, 240x300 mm, contemporary 1/2 black morocco, worn, front cover, flyleaf, and first leaf detached; photos toned, mounts foxed. Fiji, late 1880s
