28 of these were published by George Barker of Niagara Falls. Almost all depict St. Augustine, including the Ponce de Leon Hotel and nearby Fort Marion. Other subjects include a "cracker house with mud chimney," and a less condescending than usual "race" scene showing a celebration of "New Year's Day in the Sunny South." Another series of 9 on different mounts by an uncredited photographer also focus on St. Augustine, and include an elderly African-American man named "Uncle Jack, the Oldest Inhabitant," as well as the obligatory alligator.
