A children's story book with a curious little fore-edge painting and tipped-in note by the previous owner stating that the description of the painting was erased by him but described the scene as "North Bridge, Concord, Massachusets '[sic!]'. Home of famous American naturalist Thoreau, author of `Walden.' Emerson also lived there. Site of first shots in the American Civil War.'"
