Amazing piece. The covering glass is reverse-painted black with the name of the ship and the line unpainted to give a view of a pressed and faceted piece of aluminum beneath it which catches the light and creates a jewel-like effect. The portrait of the ship sits on a little shelf made by the aluminum.
