first edition of apollinaire's typographical tract on futurist anti-tradition. The French poet first thought of Futurists as "awkward pupils of Picasso or Derain and as for gracefulness, they have no conception of it." But he grew to enjoy the theoretical side of of the movement. In this document he calls for the destruction of "poetic sweetness," plagiarism, and theatrical forms, and calls "Merde" [shit] at critics, academics, essayists, dandyism, and even to Dante, Shakespeare, Wagner, Beethoven, Poe, Montaigne, Whitman, and Baudelaire among others. Scrivo 77; Cammarota 17.
