first edition, very scarce. oclc locates only 4 copies, three of which are in the U.S. This appearance of Garvey at the Royal Albert Hall records the first public speech given by Garvey after his deportation from the United States. The meeting was arranged in order "to give the English people a chance to gather first-hand knowledge of the condition of the Negro, of his status within the British Empire, his case against the forces that make to his degradation and exploitation in the colonies, and his hopes and desires, as well as to represent to them the general condition of the Negroes in America, Africa and South and Central America, believing that it was only by doing so, that a better understanding could be reached between the black and white races of the world."
