An elaborate equestrian portrait of Washington approaching the Delaware, with faintly visible troops crossing the river below. He holds up a looking glass as his cape flaps in the wind.

Baker 409 (has seen only one example; credits the engraving to John Baker on unknown authority); Hart 757. We trace only 3 in institutions, and only one other at auction since a Swann sale, 3 October 1957, lot 368.
