(GLOBE -- TELLURIAN.) The Vetter Co. Ideal Planetarium. 3-inch terrestrial globe comprised of 12 color-printed paper gores, painted wooden moon with swiveling metal phase cover-piece rotating around a 6-inch brass sun ball and painted wooden Venus; all mechanically gear-driven on a metal arm raised by a turned wooden baluster handle on a circular metal base with printed zodiacal calendar. Overall approximately 12 inches high x 20 inches long; in fully functioning order with a repair to the driveshaft, on the whole quite nice with the terrestrial sphere in near-perfect condition, minor scrapes to metal base and a small repair to the printed calendar ring. Preserved in its original (slightly worn) custom-fitted trunk bearing the ownership inscription: "Freeport High School, Freeport, LI, NY." Kansas City: Vetter, circa 1920
