Fabulous archive of correspondence to and from Lloyd Goodrich, Associate Director, and then Director of the Whitney Museum of American Art from 1958-68. Goodrich was also an art critic and author of several definitive biographies on such artists as Hopper, Kuniyoshi, Eakins, Marsh, Homer, Bishop, among others. This archive contains roughly 200 pieces of correspondence to him and his family from numerous artists and cultural figures over several decades.
