Additional Details

An uncommon and rather comprehensive guide to the city. The engraved plates include views of Manhattan locations, including Broadway, the Exchange, City Hall and the South Street Seaport. The map extends from the tip of Manhattan to 86th street, and contains an inset of the rest of the island. This copy presumably once belonging to Richard T. H. Halsey, the author of a well-known study of views of New York on Staffordshire pottery.
