Additional Details

Hyacinthe Moyse (1769-1801) was the nephew of Toussaint L'Ouverture and an important figure in the Haitian Revolution. He became a top general in his uncle's army, but led an unsuccessful rebellion in 1801 which ended in his execution, three months after this document.
