Lease of a plantation together with 'les negres des deux sexes', with provisions for "les evenements qui seraient occasiones par l'etat de guerre de la colonie aussi par la revolte des Esclaves.' Jeremie, 19 January 1797 Robert Hamilton. Extract from General Orders. One manuscript page; worn. 'Tis with the sincerest regret the Brigadier General finds the names of so many gallant officers in the list of the killed and wounded" including "Lieutenant Miller in whom the 55th have again to regret the loss of another very brave officer at the attack of Port Jack Thomas on the 26 instant.'
